EXTON, PA — Lungpacer Medical has appointed veteran healthcare finance executive Steven Pfanstiel as chief financial officer, adding leadership with public-company and commercialization experience as the company advances the market rollout of its AeroPace respiratory therapy system.
The appointment comes as Lungpacer seeks to expand adoption of AeroPace, an FDA-cleared neurostimulation technology designed for mechanically ventilated patients, and positions the company with additional financial and operational leadership during its next stage of growth.
Pfanstiel brings nearly 25 years of experience across the medical device, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors, including multiple executive leadership roles at publicly traded companies.
Most recently, he served as chief financial officer at Neuronetics, where he helped oversee the integration of Greenbrook’s clinic operations and supported commercial expansion efforts.
Prior to Neuronetics, he held dual chief operating officer and chief financial officer roles at Marinus Pharmaceuticals, where he participated in the commercial launch of the epilepsy treatment Ztalmy and helped guide the company through its acquisition by Immedica Pharma AB in 2025.
His previous experience also includes senior finance and operational leadership positions at LifeScan, OptiNose, and Johnson & Johnson.
Lungpacer President and Chief Executive Officer Doug Evans said the company is entering a period focused on commercial execution, operational scaling, and financing activities following regulatory approval of AeroPace and the establishment of a Medicare reimbursement pathway.
The company is also developing AeroNova, another product candidate within its neurostimulation portfolio.
Pfanstiel holds an MBA in finance from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, a master’s degree in environmental systems engineering from Clemson University, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Wabash College.
