Facet Expands Leadership as Biotech Advisory Demand Grows

Facet Life Sciences

WAYNE, PA — Facet Life Sciences is restructuring its executive leadership team as demand grows for regulatory and commercialization advisory services among emerging biotechnology and medical device companies navigating increasingly costly and complex U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval pathways.

The company said leadership transitions will take effect between the second and third quarters of 2026 as it expands operational oversight and client advisory functions.

Tom Hallam will assume the roles of president and chief operating officer, while Lane Jaeckle Santos will become strategic program champion and regulatory services team manager.

Lisa Jenkins VanLuvanee was appointed the company’s first chief values officer, a newly created role focused on organizational culture and internal operations. Ken VanLuvanee will remain chief executive officer and board chairman.

Facet advises early-stage biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device developers on regulatory strategy, product development, and commercialization planning, areas that have become increasingly critical as smaller life sciences firms face tighter capital markets and heightened regulatory scrutiny.

The restructuring signals an effort to expand operational capacity while preserving founder leadership as clients seek outside expertise to manage development timelines, FDA interactions, and commercialization risk without building large internal regulatory teams.

“Our clear-eyed focus has always been on creating and executing development strategies for emerging life sciences companies,” Chief Executive Ken VanLuvanee said.

The company did not disclose hiring plans, financial terms, or expected revenue impact tied to the leadership changes.

Hallam indicated the transition is intended to improve operational consistency as Facet scales its advisory platform.

“At Facet, we bring experience and judgment to complex decision-making environments,” Hallam said.

The creation of a chief values officer position also reflects a broader trend among consulting and professional services firms placing greater emphasis on retention, organizational culture, and leadership development as competition for scientific and regulatory talent intensifies across the biotechnology sector.
