Quaker Houghton Reports Sustainability Progress After Scope 3 Assessment

Quaker Houghton

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Quaker Houghton has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing new emissions measurements, operational targets and product-related initiatives as industrial companies face increasing pressure from customers, investors and regulators to demonstrate environmental performance across their supply chains.

The industrial process fluids manufacturer reported that it completed its first Scope 3 greenhouse gas assessment, a milestone that expands the company’s measurement of emissions beyond its direct operations to include value-chain activities. The assessment follows a 2024 double materiality review that the company said is helping shape future sustainability priorities and performance targets.

The report outlines progress across several environmental and product stewardship metrics, including a 13% increase in renewable electricity usage compared with 2024 and a 9% reduction in water consumption intensity.

Quaker Houghton also reported that its QH FLUIDCARE™ service programs helped customers avoid approximately 22,000 metric tons of waste during the year. The company said the results were achieved at customer locations participating in the program.

The report further noted that 33 active product formulations were modified to remove carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic hazards, part of an effort to improve product safety across its portfolio.

Chief Executive Officer and President Joseph Berquist linked the company’s sustainability efforts to customer demand for operational efficiency and resource management.

“Our progress in 2025 reflects both our commitment to delivering more sustainable outcomes for our customers and our ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment,” Berquist said. “We have made advancements across our product portfolio and service technologies, helping customers reduce waste, water, and energy while improving overall performance.”
