WAYNE, PA — Inverness Graham has formed a three-member advisory council to guide sourcing, investment evaluation and portfolio strategy for its Green Light sustainability-focused buyout program targeting lower middle market companies.
The Philadelphia-area private equity firm appointed Curtis Ravenel, Nira Johri and Kish Rajan as the inaugural members of the Green Light Sustainability Council.
The council will advise Inverness Graham as it pursues controlling investments in businesses whose products or services improve efficiency, infrastructure resilience and resource productivity.
Members will help identify potential transactions, refine investment theses, evaluate platform and add-on acquisitions and develop operating initiatives across the Green Light portfolio, the firm stated.
The structure expands Inverness Graham’s Industry Executive Partner program, which connects its investment teams and portfolio companies with outside operators and industry specialists.
“This market requires more than capital; it requires investors who understand how operational improvements translate into both environmental and commercial outcomes,” Ravenel stated.
Ravenel is a senior adviser to former Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Mary Schapiro on Michael Bloomberg’s climate finance portfolio and a distinguished fellow in sustainable finance at the ClimateWorks Foundation.
He previously founded Bloomberg LP’s Sustainable Business & Finance Group and served as its global head from 2007 through 2019. Ravenel also helped establish the secretariat for the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
Johri has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, supply chains and commercial strategy. She most recently served as chief sustainability officer at KFC, part of Yum! Brands, and previously held roles at Rich Products Corp., the World Cocoa Foundation and the U.S. Department of Defense.
She currently advises Gravity, an artificial intelligence-based carbon and energy management platform.
Rajan is chief executive officer of Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery and a board member of Napa Recycling & Waste Services.
He previously served as the first director of the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development under former Gov. Jerry Brown and has held commercial roles in the mobile and enterprise technology sectors.
Inverness Graham focuses on control buyouts of technology-enabled businesses operating in traditional industries. The council gives the firm additional operating, finance and public-policy expertise as it evaluates sustainability-related investments.
