PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philly Black Pride will mark its 27th anniversary with a weeklong series of events across Philadelphia from April 20 through April 26, 2026, celebrating Black LGBTQ+ culture, community, and advocacy.

The organization said this year’s theme, “250 Reasons to Celebrate Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers,” will recognize 250 individuals in the Greater Philadelphia region for their contributions to culture, advocacy, and community.

Events are scheduled citywide and include a flag-raising ceremony at Philadelphia City Hall, a youth party, wellness programming, live performances, panel discussions, and a block party. The Warwick Rittenhouse Hotel will serve as the official host hotel.

A central event is the Philly Black Pride 250 Opening Reception on Friday, April 24, where Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna McClinton is expected to deliver remarks.

Additional programming includes the debut of the Liberty, Love and Black Philly Pride Run on April 25, a video game tournament, and the Thrive Black LGBTQ+ Empowerment Summit on April 26, featuring speakers including State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta and civil rights attorney Angela Giampolo.

Organizers will also host a Chocolate Social networking event, open mic night, podcast recording, and a series of wellness activities focused on physical and mental health.

Philly Black Pride President Jacen Bowman said the event highlights both celebration and advocacy.
