EXTON, PA — Frontage Laboratories, Inc. announced it has completed the acquisition of Teddy Clinical Research Laboratory (Shanghai), Ltd., expanding its laboratory services in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
The companies said the transaction is intended to strengthen Frontage’s central laboratory capabilities and support growing demand for clinical trials in China and multi-regional studies.
Teddy Lab provides clinical research laboratory services and has supported more than 1,500 clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas, according to the announcement.
The laboratory operates under Good Clinical Practice standards and maintains internationally recognized certifications, including accreditation from the College of American Pathologists and NGSP Level 1 certification.
The facility also holds qualification as a Class II Unsealed Radioactive Material Workplace, allowing it to conduct certain specialized laboratory testing required for clinical research.
According to Frontage, Teddy Lab has supported regulatory inspections and contributed to the marketing approval of approximately 50 new drugs.
The acquisition expands Frontage’s central laboratory footprint in China and is expected to support both domestic clinical trials and multi-regional clinical trials conducted across several countries.
Company officials said integrating Teddy Lab’s services with Frontage’s existing platform will broaden the company’s capabilities in areas including bioanalytical testing, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, safety and toxicology, chemistry manufacturing and controls, and clinical trial support.
Frontage said the expanded laboratory infrastructure is intended to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies conduct drug development and clinical research programs.
Frontage Laboratories is a subsidiary of Frontage Holdings Corporation, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The company provides contract research and development services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies from early drug discovery through late-phase clinical trials and manufacturing.
Frontage operates 26 facilities worldwide and provides services including drug discovery support, API synthesis, formulation development, GMP manufacturing, analytical testing, and clinical trial laboratory services.
