PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will conduct resurfacing and repair work next week on sections of Veree Road, Rising Sun Avenue, and Kelly Drive in Philadelphia, requiring multiple lane closures.
From Monday, August 18, through Friday, August 22, lane closures will be in place on Veree Road between Bustleton Avenue and Oxford Avenue from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM for milling and inlet/manhole repairs.
During the same period, Rising Sun Avenue between Cottman Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) will be reduced to one lane nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM for milling, and from Wednesday, August 20, through Friday, August 22, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM for inlet and manhole repairs.
Additionally, from Wednesday, August 20, through Friday, August 22, Kelly Drive between 25th Street and Ridge Avenue will have daytime lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for inlet and manhole work.
The projects are part of PennDOT’s ongoing effort to mill, repair, and repave state highways to improve safety and extend roadway life. All work is weather dependent, and motorists should expect delays.
