CALN TWP, PA — Caln Township commissioners will consider a proposal to establish a 9,600-square-foot veterinary office in an industrial district during an October 29 public hearing, a decision that would determine whether the proposed use meets the township’s zoning requirements.
Veterinarian Meghan Furey, D.V.M., is seeking conditional-use approval to operate the facility at 2350 Warren Avenue, within the township’s I-1 Industrial District.
The application concerns a portion of Chester County Tax Parcel No. 39-4J-77 and is subject to Section 155-29.B and Appendix B, the Table of Uses, of Caln Township’s 2026 Zoning Ordinance.
The proposal would introduce a veterinary office into space designated for industrial uses, requiring commissioners to evaluate the application under the township’s conditional-use standards.
Conditional-use approval would authorize the proposed activity under applicable zoning requirements, potentially subject to conditions imposed by the township.
The application remains pending. No approval has been granted.
Commissioners are scheduled to hold the public hearing Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Caln Township Municipal Building, 253 Municipal Drive, Thorndale.
Following consideration of the application, the board may approve the proposed use with conditions, deny the request, or continue the hearing for additional proceedings.
Residents and other interested parties may obtain copies of the application by contacting the township’s administrative offices during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Individuals requiring disability accommodations or auxiliary services to attend or participate in the hearing should contact the township at 610-384-0600.
The October 29 hearing will provide an opportunity for public consideration of the proposed veterinary use before commissioners determine whether it can proceed at the Warren Avenue property.
