PHILADELPHIA, PA — Terrain, the home and garden brand under the Anthropologie Group, has announced a strategic partnership with the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. The collaboration centers on shared values of sustainability and creativity and includes Terrain’s sponsorship of This Earthen Door: Nature as Muse and Material, a major exhibition scheduled for 2025.
The exhibition will explore how contemporary artists are inspired by nature and, in many cases, work directly with organic materials. By supporting this initiative, Terrain aims to deepen its roots in community engagement and environmental stewardship while celebrating the intersection of art and the natural world.
“Brandywine has long been a champion of environmental preservation and artistic excellence,” said Beth Smith, Managing Director of Terrain. “This partnership is a natural extension of our brand’s values, and we are thrilled to support This Earthen Door while deepening our relationship with the community.”
The Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art is known for its dual mission of land conservation and cultural preservation across the Brandywine-Christina watershed, which spans parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware. As an accredited land trust, the Conservancy safeguards thousands of acres of natural landscape, while the Museum of Art curates exhibitions that emphasize American art, with a particular focus on artists inspired by the surrounding region.
The partnership aims to amplify both organizations’ influence by merging artistic innovation with ecological responsibility. The exhibition and related programming will highlight the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment—an ethos both Terrain and Brandywine actively promote.
“We are delighted to partner with Terrain,” said Virginia Logan, The Frolic Weymouth Executive Director and CEO of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. “Their uniquely imaginative approach to their business makes them a perfect partner for Brandywine. Terrain’s devotion to nature and beauty aligns with our dual mission of celebrating art and nature through our land trust and museum of American Art. We look forward to new opportunities for collaboration that will enhance our communities and further our mission.”
The partnership represents a fusion of commerce and conservation, offering a model for how businesses and cultural institutions can work together to inspire environmental awareness and artistic engagement.
