WILMINGTON, DE — Two men are facing drug charges after a routine traffic stop in Wilmington on Friday evening led to the discovery of a significant quantity of crack cocaine, authorities announced.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers from the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 8:13 p.m. on June 28 in the 100 block of North Adams Street. During the stop, police made contact with the driver, identified as 50-year-old Robert Octavio Jr., and a passenger, 46-year-old Victor Bryson.
Following what officials described as a brief on-scene investigation, both men were taken into custody without incident. Police reported recovering 33.55 grams of crack cocaine from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Octavio Jr. has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, a serious offense under Delaware law due to the large amount involved. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and subsequently committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $30,000 cash-only bail.
Bryson was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was also arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,000 unsecured bail pending further proceedings.
All charges in this case are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
