Drivers should expect backups and slower travel through the heavily used corridor, especially during midday traffic periods. Motorists are encouraged to plan extra time and seek alternate routes where possible.

The $2.9 million project is designed to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes at the intersection. Planned upgrades include a new southbound right-turn deceleration lane on U.S. 202 and an additional eastbound left-turn lane on Route 926, creating a double left-turn configuration approaching Wilmington Pike.

Additional improvements include upgraded traffic signals, ADA curb ramp enhancements, and milling and paving operations throughout the intersection area.
