CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Overnight resurfacing work will bring lane closures and delays to a key Chester County roadway next week as PennDOT continues a regional effort to repair and repave hundreds of miles of state highways.
At a Glance
- Roads Affected: Union Street / Kaolin Road / Limestone Road
- Dates: Sunday, March 29, through Thursday, April 2
- Times: 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM (overnight)
- Reason: Resurfacing and roadway repairs
PennDOT said lane closures with flagging will be in place between Southwood Road and Schoolhouse Lane, with traffic controlled by flaggers moving vehicles through the work zone in alternating directions.
Drivers should plan extra time and expect delays, particularly during peak overnight travel hours. The combination of narrow lane access and flagging operations can create intermittent backups along this corridor.
No formal detour has been announced. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible to avoid potential slowdowns and congestion.
All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unfavorable.
The resurfacing effort is part of a broader infrastructure program aimed at repairing, milling, and repaving roadways to improve safety and ride quality across the region.
