ROYERSFORD, PA — State Sen. Katie Muth will bring more than 60 veterans organizations and service providers to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks on Sept. 12, giving veterans in the 44th Senate District direct access to benefits assistance, county services and health resources.
The annual Veterans Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hall C at the expo center, 100 Station Ave. Attendance is free for veterans who live in the district, but advance registration is required.
Maj. Gen. John Pippy, Pennsylvania’s adjutant general and head of the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, is scheduled to attend and meet with veterans.
The event will include representatives from the Chester and Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds offices, who will help eligible veterans apply for free veterans discount cards accepted by participating local businesses.
Veterans who have not yet applied for a discount card are encouraged to bring a copy of their DD214 discharge documents.
Skippack Pharmacy will offer vaccinations to attendees with valid health insurance cards. Available vaccines will include flu, COVID-19, RSV, pneumonia, shingles and tetanus.
Registered veterans and one guest will also receive lunch from Mission BBQ at no charge.
Muth, a Democrat whose district includes portions of Chester, Montgomery, and Berks counties, is hosting the event for veterans residing in Senate District 44.
