WILMINGTON, DE — A 19-year-old man is facing firearm charges after Wilmington police said officers recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop and later seized additional ammunition during a search in New Castle.
Officers with the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 2:44 p.m. Sept. 16 in the 200 block of West 10th Street for a traffic violation, according to police.
Police said officers made contact with Tylere Brown-Hall, 19, and took him into custody without incident.
Officers reported recovering a loaded 9mm handgun during the investigation.
Police subsequently executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Pilgrim Road in New Castle, where officers reported recovering additional ammunition and a weapon-mounted light.
Brown-Hall was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited and one count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $75,000 cash-only bail, police reported.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
