Wilmington Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on West 27th Street

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man on the morning of March 17, 2025.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 9:45 a.m. in the unit block of West 27th Street. Upon arrival, police found the victim, now identified as Zaire Davis-Shelton, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
