EAST GOSHEN TWP, PA — Aqua Pennsylvania is seeking East Goshen Township approval to install PFAS treatment equipment at an existing groundwater well facility on two residential properties, putting a drinking-water infrastructure project before supervisors for an Oct. 20 conditional-use hearing.
The proposed system would be constructed within an existing easement spanning 620 and 622 Thorncroft Drive, properties in the township’s R-2 Low Density Residential District.
Aqua is seeking conditional-use approval to improve and expand the existing public utility facility under the township zoning ordinance. No conditional-use approval has been granted.
Plans call for two cylindrical vessels, each measuring 6 feet in diameter and approximately 15 feet high, on a concrete pad beside the existing well building. Aqua also proposes additional landscaping around the facility.
The equipment would treat perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, at the groundwater well. The proposal would add sizable treatment infrastructure within easements on residential properties, making the equipment’s placement and physical footprint part of the township’s land-use review.
The East Goshen Township Board of Supervisors will hold the conditional-use hearing at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 during its regular public meeting at the Township Building, 1580 Paoli Pike, West Chester.
Copies of Aqua’s conditional-use application are available for public examination at the Municipal Building.
