WILMINGTON, DE — A 22-year-old man is facing multiple firearm charges after Wilmington police said officers recovered a loaded handgun with a 3D-printed lower receiver and a “switch” during a vehicle stop.
Officers with the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 10:38 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 700 block of North West Street for a vehicle violation, according to police.
Police said officers made contact with Corey Hynson, 22, and took him into custody without incident after confirming that he had an outstanding Wilmington Police Department warrant.
During the stop, officers reported recovering a loaded 9mm handgun equipped with a 3D-printed lower receiver and what police described as a “switch.”
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Hynson was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a destructive weapon, possession of an untraceable firearm and possession of a large-capacity magazine, according to police.
Hynson was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $14,000 cash-only bail, police reported.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
