PARKESBURG, PA — A 24-year-old man wanted in connection with a December police pursuit was taken into custody in Lancaster County after authorities said he fled from a residence in Gap.
Parkesburg Borough police said officers developed information Sept. 16 about the location of Omere Nayshon Peoples, 24, and forwarded it to Pennsylvania State Police at the Lancaster barracks.
State troopers subsequently observed Peoples allegedly fleeing from a residence in Gap, according to Parkesburg police. Police reported that troopers eventually apprehended Peoples and that he was housed in Lancaster County Prison following his Sept. 17 arrest.
The arrest stemmed from a felony warrant issued Jan. 2 following a Dec. 12, 2025, traffic pursuit in Parkesburg, according to borough police.
Police allege the pursuit began in the 100 block of West First Avenue after officers observed a traffic violation. Investigators said the vehicle allegedly fled from police and later struck a parked vehicle before the driver ran from the scene.
During the subsequent investigation, Parkesburg police identified Peoples as the alleged driver and determined that he had several other active warrants, according to police.
Peoples faces a charge of flight to avoid apprehension and related offenses. His Parkesburg warrant was issued through District Court 15-3-07 under docket number MJ-15307-CR-0000002-2026.
A preliminary hearing on the charges will be scheduled in District Court 15-3-07, according to police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
