Late-Night Chaos: Coatesville Man Accused of Spitting on Officer in Violent Arrest

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 35-year-old Coatesville man faces a series of charges following an alleged confrontation with law enforcement in the early hours of March 30, 2025, in West Chester Borough. Nijee Flowers has been accused of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and issuing threats during the incident.

According to the West Chester Police Department, officers encountered Flowers at approximately 2:00 a.m. near 50 North High Street. He was described as highly intoxicated and became combative, allegedly threatening an officer on the scene. When authorities attempted to take him into custody, Flowers reportedly resisted and escalated the situation further.

During the altercation, police claim Flowers spat on the side of an officer’s head, followed by spitting directly into the officer’s face, which ultimately led to his detention. Flowers was then transported to Chester County Prison, where he was arraigned on multiple charges, including assault of a law enforcement officer in the first degree, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

The charges against Flowers remain allegations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
