HARRISBURG, PA — A Lancaster County jury convicted self-described life coach Kyle Slaymaker of sexually abusing a preteen child over several years, a verdict that will require him to register as a sex offender.
Slaymaker, 39, was found guilty after a two-day trial of felony indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a child and endangering the welfare of a child, along with misdemeanor indecent assault, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 5.
Trial testimony established that Slaymaker repeatedly spanked the child for sexual gratification while he was a close acquaintance of the victim, the Attorney General’s Office reported.
Multiple witnesses testified that Slaymaker had what they described as a “spanking fetish.” At least two witnesses told jurors they initially encountered him online, where he presented himself as a life coach offering business advice, before learning of the fetish.
Investigators also found pornography depicting spanking on Slaymaker’s cellphone, according to testimony cited by prosecutors.
Attorney General Dave Sunday characterized the conduct as the exploitation of a child for Slaymaker’s sexual gratification and credited jurors with weighing the evidence presented at trial.
Senior Deputy Attorney General Christopher Phillips prosecuted the case.
