WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington woman has been charged after an alleged confrontation at a tire shop escalated into assaults and an attempted vehicle strike, according to Delaware State Police.

Troopers reported that they responded to Jose’s Tire Shop on North Market Street at approximately 12:15 p.m. on June 19 for a reported hit-and-run collision.

According to investigators, 32-year-old Amadi Muhammad went to the business seeking repairs to her vehicle. When employees informed her that the requested service could not be performed, police allege she became involved in a verbal dispute and refused to leave the property.

During the incident, Muhammad allegedly grabbed one employee by the shirt and punched a second employee, according to police. Investigators further allege that she then drove her vehicle toward one of the employees, nearly striking the individual before stopping.

Police reported that, as Muhammad left the property, her vehicle struck an unrelated parked vehicle. The employees were not injured, and the owner of the parked vehicle declined to pursue criminal charges related to the collision, according to investigators.

Through the investigation, troopers identified Muhammad as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.
