PHILADELPHIA, PA — A jury has convicted Ramiz Duka, 61, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, of conspiracy to commit arson following a trial that detailed his involvement in the deliberate burning of a warehouse in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
Duka, who recruited two accomplices with a $15,000 payout, orchestrated the fire that caused nearly $6 million in damages on December 10, 2022. A firefighter was seriously injured during the fire suppression efforts when a ladder collapsed.
Duka now faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, with a possible maximum of 20 years, underscoring the serious consequences of his actions.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with the Bensalem Police Department, led a thorough investigation resulting in Duka’s conviction. The Bensalem Township Fire Rescue and local volunteer firefighter companies played crucial roles in managing the fire emergency. Assistant United States Attorney Amanda R. Reinitz is prosecuting the case.
