MORGANTOWN, PA — A 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police said a person was allegedly assaulted outside Morgantown Beverage on Saturday night.
According to the Caernarvon Township Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, for a reported active assault at the business along Main Street.
Police said arriving officers found the victim lying in a fetal position behind a vehicle with visible cuts to the forehead and blood on their shirt sleeves.
Investigators reported that 23-year-old Corey Brown was taken into custody at the scene.
According to police, a witness told officers they observed Brown allegedly pull the victim by the hair from the trunk area of a minivan before striking and kicking the victim in the head multiple times.
Police stated that security footage from the business allegedly corroborated the witness account. Investigators said the video appeared to show Brown pulling the victim from the vehicle, pushing the person to the ground, and repeatedly kicking and striking the victim in the head.
Brown was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and harassment, according to authorities. Police did not release additional information regarding the victim’s condition or any upcoming court proceedings.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
