Police News

WILMINGTON, DE — Law enforcement officials have arrested two men in connection to a disruptive incident involving a large crowd near a sporting event in the city late Friday night.

The Wilmington Police Department reported that officers were present in the 400 block of Garasches Lane to assist during a sporting event attended by over 4,000 people. Once the venue reached capacity, entry was denied to additional individuals, leading to a disorderly crowd forming outside.

Authorities stated that groups of individuals began engaging in physical altercations and causing property damage. Attempts to gain entry by pulling on doors and throwing objects were also reported. During the commotion, one person shattered a glass door, while another pushed a uniformed police officer to the ground. Despite these incidents, the officer and members of the public sustained no injuries.
