PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for masked suspects linked to a series of armed robberies across several city neighborhoods, including five incidents reported within two hours Sunday morning and additional robberies Tuesday.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division said two masked suspects allegedly committed five robberies between 4 and 6 a.m. Oct. 4 in Northern Liberties, Center City, Spring Garden and North Philadelphia West.
According to investigators, both suspects were armed with handguns, including one equipped with a flashlight or laser attachment. Police said the suspects allegedly stole victims’ bags and cellphones during the robberies.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators said the suspects used a stolen black Honda Accord, which police subsequently recovered in the 2200 block of West Sergeant Street.
Two days later, between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 6, several masked individuals allegedly carried out additional armed robberies in the Fairmount and Temple University areas, according to police.
During those incidents, groups of two or three masked suspects allegedly threatened victims with firearms equipped with laser attachments and demanded their belongings.
Police said the suspects used a red Honda Accord, believed to be a 2018 to 2021 model, with heavily tinted windows, a sunroof and chrome door handles.
Investigators described two suspects as Black males believed to be between 16 and 20 years old, with thin to medium builds. Both were reportedly wearing black clothing, ski masks and red gloves with black palms. The estimated age range indicates the unidentified individuals could include juveniles.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those involved in the robberies.
Anyone who encounters the suspects is urged not to approach them and to call 911 immediately.
