The restrictions are scheduled during overnight hours, from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, to minimize impacts on daytime traffic.

No detour has been announced, but motorists should expect delays as traffic merges through the active work zone. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible, particularly during late evening and early morning hours.

The work is part of a $5.2 million project designed to improve traffic flow at the Interstate 476 interchange. Planned improvements include creating a free-flowing westbound Route 3 off-ramp to the northbound I-476 on-ramp by removing signal control from the ramp lane. Crews will also restripe the northbound I-476 on-ramp while maintaining the existing lane configuration on South Lawrence Road.

PennDOT warns that significant backups may occur during construction activities. All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.

Drivers traveling through the interchange corridor should remain alert for changing traffic patterns, reduced lane capacity, and construction crews working near the roadway.
