PennDOT said Trevose Road will be closed around the clock between Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 532 (Bustleton Avenue) while crews rehabilitate the 56-year-old bridge that carries traffic over Poquessing Creek.
The closure is scheduled to begin Monday, June 22, and remain in place through Monday, July 20.
During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 132 (Street Road), Philmont Avenue, and Route 532 (Bustleton Avenue) to travel around the work zone.
Local access will be maintained at all times, but drivers should expect delays near the closure and along the detour route. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when practical.
According to PennDOT, the project includes applying a latex-modified concrete overlay to the bridge deck, repairing concrete and structural components, resealing or replacing deck joints, replacing damaged railing, clearing vegetation, and adding erosion protection near the bridge approaches.
The bridge carries more than 8,000 vehicles per day and is part of a broader $16.2 million program to rehabilitate more than 15 bridges across Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.
All scheduled work is weather dependent.
