MIDDLETOWN TWP, PA — Drivers traveling through parts of Middletown Township should prepare for daytime delays as PennDOT crews continue work on a major traffic improvement project along Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road.

- Roads Affected: Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road
- Dates: Weekdays through June 26, 2026
- Times: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
- Reason: Line striping and fence installation
According to PennDOT, periodic lane closures with flagging operations will be in place weekdays through Friday, June 26, on Langhorne-Yardley Road between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road and on Woodbourne Road between Kilburn Road and the entrance to Core Creek Park.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zones as crews perform line striping and fence installation activities associated with a broader roadway improvement project.
No detour has been announced, but motorists should expect delays as traffic is periodically slowed through active work areas. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible during daytime work hours.
The work is part of a $10.9 million PennDOT project aimed at reducing congestion and improving safety along the Langhorne-Yardley Road corridor. The project previously delivered a new single-lane roundabout at Langhorne-Yardley Road and Bridgetown Pike, which reopened in August 2025.
Additional improvements are scheduled to continue through early 2026 and include realigning the northern leg of Woodbourne Road, adding auxiliary turn lanes at key intersections, widening portions of the roadway, upgrading traffic signals, and improving pedestrian and bicycle access.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unfavorable.
Drivers traveling through the area should remain alert for flagging operations, lane restrictions, and changing traffic patterns throughout the project corridor.
