PHILADELPHIA, PA — Specialized Elevator expanded its Philadelphia-area operations through a merger with Wyatt Elevator as consolidation continues across the elevator maintenance and service industry.
The transaction adds Wyatt Elevator’s regional operations to Specialized, which describes itself as the nation’s largest independent unionized elevator and escalator services company. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
Wyatt, founded in 2012, has built its business servicing elevators throughout the Philadelphia region.
Under the agreement, founders Tom Killion and Dan Killion will leave the company, while co-founder Bob Brumbach will remain in a leadership role overseeing Philadelphia operations alongside Specialized management.
Specialized operates in the Philadelphia market primarily under its TEC brand and said it plans to continue maintaining local operating brands within its national platform.
The combined company will employ more than 500 members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors and service roughly 25,000 elevator and escalator units nationwide.
Chief Operating Officer Donovan McKeever described the merger as part of Specialized’s broader effort to expand its national service footprint while strengthening regional operations.
Brumbach said the merger would allow Wyatt to retain its local presence while gaining access to broader operational resources and infrastructure.
The deal was advised on behalf of Wyatt Elevator by Lift Business Advisors.
