SKIPPACK TWP, PA — Midday drivers along Skippack Pike should expect intermittent slowdowns Wednesday as PennDOT continues a major bridge replacement project in Montgomery County.

On Wednesday, February 25, periodic lane closures will be in place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Old Forty Foot Road/Evansburg Road and Kerr Road. Crews will conduct roadway and bridge construction activities tied to a $7 million effort to replace the aging bridge over Skippack Creek.

No detours are scheduled, but traffic will be restricted at times while crews work within the travel lanes. Expect delays through the corridor, particularly during late-morning and early-afternoon travel. Plan extra time and remain alert for flaggers and shifting traffic patterns.

The project will replace the existing 90-year-old bridge with a new single-span concrete structure designed to carry two 12-foot lanes and 8-foot shoulders, improving long-term durability and safety.

All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.
