MANHEIM TWP, PA — Motorists traveling through the Route 30/Route 222 interchange in Lancaster County should prepare for significant overnight restrictions Monday, November 2, as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) schedules lane closures and temporary stop conditions during a traffic shift.
At a Glance
- Roads Affected: Route 30 Eastbound, between Route 501 (Lititz Pike) and Route 23 (New Holland Pike); Route 222 Northbound, between Route 30 and the Landis Valley Road overpass.
- Dates: Monday, November 2, through Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
- Times: 9:00 PM Monday–6:00 AM Tuesday.
- Reason: Overnight traffic shift for interchange reconstruction.
Two right lanes on eastbound Route 30 and the right lane on northbound Route 222 will be closed during the operation.
Temporary stop conditions will also be imposed on the Chester Road ramp to eastbound Route 30 and the westbound Route 30 ramp to northbound Route 222. Drivers using either ramp must stop before merging onto the highway.
PennDOT warns that delays are expected and urges motorists to allow extra travel time and use caution through the work zone.
The restrictions are part of a $72.2 million project to improve the Route 30/Route 222 interchange, widen approximately one mile of Route 222 from four to six lanes, expand interchange ramps and replace two bridges. J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen is the contractor.
The overnight work is weather dependent.
