WEST EARL TWP, PA — Drivers should prepare for delays in both directions of Route 222 as PennDOT repairs bridge expansion dams over Church Street in West Earl Township, Lancaster County.

A right lane closure is in place on the northbound bridge while crews repair an expansion dam over Church Street. A left lane closure is also in place on the southbound bridge to complete similar repairs.
No detour has been announced. Drivers should plan extra time because traffic delays are expected in both directions through the work zone. Seek alternate routes when practical and remain alert for changing traffic patterns and construction crews.
PennDOT said most of the roadway work associated with the project has already been completed. The remaining lane restrictions are needed to finish the final stages of construction.
The bridge repairs are part of an $8.49 million pavement preservation project covering 3.3 miles of Route 222 in Manheim, Warwick and West Earl townships. The project includes resurfacing, full-width milling, base repairs, concrete patching, guiderail improvements, line painting and sign upgrades between the Bushong Road and Pool Road overhead bridges.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company Inc. of New Enterprise is the contractor for the project.
