  • Dates: Beginning June 15, 2026, through Nov. 20, 2026
  • Times: Daylight hours initially; overnight work on select routes in August from 7:00 PM-6:00 AM

According to PennDOT, crews will begin work Monday, June 15, on secondary state routes in southern Lancaster County. The initial phase is expected to continue for approximately four weeks, with operations occurring during daylight hours.

The work will then expand to more heavily traveled corridors, including Route 30, Route 222, Route 230, Route 241, Route 272, Route 283, Route 501, Route 722, and Route 772.

In August, nighttime crack sealing operations are scheduled on Route 30 in Lancaster and York counties and Route 283 in Lancaster County. Those activities will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect slow-moving work zones and short-term lane closures as crews progress along affected roadways. No detours have been announced, but drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and remain alert for changing traffic conditions, particularly when approaching mobile operations.

PennDOT said the project is part of a $1.7 million pavement preservation effort intended to help prevent water infiltration and extend the life of existing road surfaces. The work is being performed by Kriger Construction Inc. of Archbald and is expected to be completed by Nov. 20, 2026.

Because crews will be moving throughout the county and eventually onto several major highways, motorists are encouraged to stay alert for work vehicles, reduced speeds, and temporary lane restrictions wherever operations are underway.
