BLUE BELL, PA — Rego Payment Architectures (OTCQB: RPMT) has appointed child online safety advocate and psychologist Dr. Lisa Strohman as global advisor for youth digital protection, a move that comes as technology companies face increasing scrutiny over children’s privacy, online safety, and age-verification practices.
The company said Strohman will help guide strategy related to child safety programs, age-assurance standards, parental controls, and policies governing artificial intelligence interactions with minors.
The appointment positions Rego to expand its focus on youth digital protection as lawmakers in the United States and abroad pursue stricter regulations governing children’s online experiences and data collection practices.
Strohman is a clinical psychologist, attorney, author, and founder of Digital Citizen Academy, a nonprofit organization focused on online safety and digital citizenship. She has advised school districts, parent organizations, lawmakers, and government agencies on issues involving youth mental health, online behavior, and technology use.
According to the company, Strohman’s responsibilities will include advising on age-verification frameworks, parental governance standards, and ethical safeguards for AI-powered products used by children.
Strohman argued that growing reliance on biometric and behavioral data for age verification raises concerns about privacy and child protection.
“We are now moving rapidly toward an AI-driven age verification environment built on behavioral surveillance and biometric data collection with few guardrails — exactly the wrong architecture for the children we are trying to protect,” she said.
Rego develops digital payment and wallet technologies designed for children and families. The company said its platform has been structured to comply with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and European data privacy requirements.
The appointment comes as policymakers continue debating how technology platforms should balance online safety, privacy rights, age verification, and access to digital services for minors.
