PHILADELPHIA, PA — Proscia is expanding deployment of its digital pathology technology across Unilabs’ 12-country pathology network, giving the European diagnostics provider a common platform for routine case review, diagnostic data, and artificial intelligence applications.
Multiple Unilabs countries are already using Proscia’s Concentriq AP-Dx platform for routine case review, with additional countries expected to deploy the technology before the end of the year.
Unilabs’ pathology network includes more than 350 experts and 400 laboratory technicians and analyzes 9 million sections annually.
Proscia’s Concentriq platform connects those teams, laboratory sites, diagnostic data and AI capabilities within a single enterprise environment. The system is intended to make pathology expertise available across locations rather than limiting access to specialists at individual sites.
That structure also allows hospitals and other health-care institutions working with Unilabs to access expertise across the company’s broader pathology network.
“Proscia is enabling us to amplify the collective expertise of our network,” Unilabs Group CEO Badhri Srinivasan said.
Unilabs is also using the platform to integrate AI applications into pathology workflows. Concentriq provides interoperability with those applications as the diagnostics provider considers advanced testing approaches, including image-based companion diagnostics.
The deployment positions digital pathology infrastructure as a foundation for Unilabs’ broader use of precision-medicine tools, allowing the company to incorporate additional AI-driven approaches into its operations as they develop.
Proscia CEO David West said the deployment is part of how Unilabs is “evolving pathology and advancing precision medicine across its network.”
