PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Zoo will host the third edition of its after-hours interactive mystery event, “Zoo Done It?,” on Aug. 1, expanding eligibility to include guests ages 16 and older as the attraction returns following previous sellout events.
The evening program, developed in partnership with Without a Cue Productions, combines a live-action mystery, scavenger hunt and theatrical performances across the zoo’s grounds. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This year’s storyline is set in 1926 and centers on the disappearance of a Tasmanian tiger moments before its public unveiling. Participants will search for clues, question actors portraying suspects and work individually or in teams to determine who stole the animal.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the mystery beginning at 6 p.m. Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. before the event concludes at 8:30 p.m.
The winning participant or team will receive two Flex Passes to Red Rum Theater, a private guided tour of The Solitude historic house and a behind-the-scenes zoo experience for up to six guests, subject to availability.
Patrick McMaster, the zoo’s vice president of marketing and communications, said opening the event to guests ages 16 and older is intended to broaden participation while offering returning visitors a different way to experience the zoo.
General admission tickets start at $70, with discounted pricing available for zoo members. Complimentary on-site parking is included. The zoo also is offering a Prime Suspects Bundle that includes admission, popcorn, a beverage ticket and a Zoo Key.
Guests are encouraged to wear 1920s-inspired attire, although costumes are optional.
