Philadelphia Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect in North Broad Street Armed Robbery

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia’s Central Detective Division is turning to the public in its quest to identify a suspect captured in video footage and linked to an armed robbery on North Broad Street.

The alleged incident took place in the early morning hours of January 23, 2024. According to reports, a 39-year-old woman was walking in the 1800 block of North Broad Street around 1:50 a.m. when an unknown white male purportedly emerged from a late-model gray Ford Focus sedan. The man is said to have pointed a gun at the woman, demanding her bag, which contained a tablet, wallet, and medication.

Following the alleged robbery, the suspect reportedly fled in the vehicle, last seen heading north on 5th Street from Girard Avenue. The car appeared to be driven by another white male, who was wearing a dark jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.

The authorities have provided a description of the suspect, who is a white male dressed in a white hat, brown jacket with a camouflage or graphic pattern, green camouflage pants, and black and white sneakers.

The police are urging anyone who spots these individuals not to approach them but to dial 911 immediately.
