Philadelphia Gears Up for 2026 MLB All-Star Week With Citywide Celebration

Major League Baseball

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Baseball’s biggest stars, rising prospects, and fans from around the world will descend on Philadelphia this July as Major League Baseball unveils a weeklong celebration packed with games, fan experiences, and historic significance.

From July 10 through July 14, the city will host MLB All-Star Week, culminating in the 96th Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park. The event arrives as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary, adding an extra layer of meaning to a tradition deeply rooted in American culture.

“As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia carries added significance,” said Jeremiah Yolkut, MLB Senior Vice President of Global Operations & Events. “It’s more than a marquee sporting event—it’s a celebration of tradition, unity, and shared experience.”

The festivities begin Friday, July 10, with the HBCU Swingman Classic, a showcase for standout players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The event, co-created with Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., highlights the legacy of HBCU baseball while giving student-athletes a national stage.

Throughout the weekend, fans can experience a mix of competition and entertainment at Citizens Bank Park, including the All-Star Futures Game, spotlighting baseball’s top prospects, and MLBx: All-Star 3-on-3, a fast-paced, co-ed competition featuring former All-Stars and softball standouts.

The excitement builds into Monday night’s Home Run Derby, followed by Tuesday’s All-Star Red Carpet Show and the All-Star Game itself.

Beyond the ballpark, the celebration extends across the city. The Capital One All-Star Village at the Pennsylvania Convention Center will transform into an interactive baseball experience for fans of all ages, while the MLB Draft will return to Philadelphia, offering a free, public look at the sport’s next generation of talent.

Youth baseball and softball tournaments will also take place throughout the week, bringing young athletes from across the country to compete and connect in Philadelphia.
