READING, PA — Penske Logistics has received a 2025 General Motors Supplier of the Year Award for its supply chain performance as a lead logistics provider in Mexico, marking the sixth time the company has earned the recognition from the automaker.

The award highlights Penske’s role in supporting GM’s North American supply chain operations at a time when manufacturers continue to prioritize logistics efficiency, supply chain resilience, and real-time operational visibility.

General Motors selected Penske based on performance metrics that included shipment optimization, operational efficiency improvements, and the deployment of digital tools designed to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making, according to the companies.

Penske Logistics is a longstanding supply chain and logistics provider to multiple GM operations across North America.

“We are proud of our team for their contributions to customer success,” Penske Logistics President Jeff Jackson said. “We’re also very appreciative of the longstanding supplier relationship we have with GM and the collaboration among our teams to accelerate supply chain performance.”

The recognition comes as automakers continue investing in technology and logistics capabilities to improve supply chain reliability following years of disruptions affecting manufacturing and distribution networks worldwide.

According to GM, Penske’s work included implementing digital tools that provide real-time supply chain visibility, predictive alerts, and enhanced operational decision-making capabilities.

“Supplier of the Year is one of those key moments our whole team looks forward to every year because it highlights the partnerships behind every vehicle we build,” said Shilpan Amin, GM’s senior vice president and global chief procurement and supply chain officer.

Suppliers were evaluated across categories including safety, innovation, execution, resilience, customer support, and alignment with the company’s strategic priorities.

The award underscores the growing importance of logistics providers in automotive manufacturing, where supply chain performance has become a competitive differentiator as companies seek greater efficiency and visibility across increasingly complex global operations.
