FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Patriot Growth Insurance Services appointed Risk Strategies founder and former Chief Executive Officer Michael “Mike” Christian to its board of directors, adding an executive with decades of brokerage and acquisition experience as Patriot continues building its national insurance platform.
Christian founded Risk Strategies in 1997 and served as CEO for 22 years, overseeing the firm’s expansion from a startup into a national specialty insurance brokerage.
His responsibilities at Risk Strategies included corporate growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, recruiting and client service, experience that Patriot Chief Executive Officer John Galaviz said is relevant to the brokerage’s current expansion.
“His success bringing businesses together, building specialized capabilities, driving growth, and investing in great people is incredibly relevant to where Patriot is today and where we are headed,” Galaviz said.
Christian began his insurance career as an underwriter in California before holding senior positions at Alexander & Alexander and Jardine Insurance Brokers.
He founded Risk Strategies around a model emphasizing specialized insurance expertise and subsequently expanded the company’s geographic reach and portfolio of specialty practices.
Christian said he plans to work with Patriot’s leadership and other board members to help the company pursue its growth objectives.

Christian was inducted into the Insurance Business America Hall of Fame in 2020 and was named the Insurance Library’s 2025 Insurance Professional of the Year.
