LIMERICK TWP & UPPER PROVIDENCE TWP, PA — Westbound U.S. 422 drivers should prepare for overnight lane closures beginning Monday, July 20, as crews start a $6.2 million pavement preservation project across 4.4 miles of the highway. Motorists should plan extra time and expect delays through the work zone.

No detour has been announced. Drivers should reduce speed, watch for construction crews and seek alternate routes when practical.
The broader project will resurface and repair a 4.4-mile section of U.S. 422 in Limerick and Upper Providence townships. Planned work includes milling, base repairs where needed, installation of a bituminous overlay, replacement of pavement markings and reinstallation of edge-line rumble strips.
Allan Myers Inc., of Worcester, PA, is the general contractor. The project is financed entirely with state funds.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
