BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced upcoming lane closures on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of a $116 million project to reconstruct and widen a three-mile section of the highway.
From Sunday, September 21, through Friday, September 26, lane closures will take place nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange for bridge deck sealing. Additional periodic lane closures are scheduled from Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for sign installation.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which aims to reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 between the Rockhill Drive Interchange and the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
