Motorists should expect backups near the work zones and along the I-76 detour. Seek alternate routes when practical, particularly during overnight construction hours.

The Market Street utility work is being completed ahead of the planned closure, demolition and reconstruction of the Market Street bridge over the Schuylkill River beginning in late August. Additional detour information is expected closer to that closure.

The broader project includes replacing the Market Street bridges over Amtrak and I-76, redecking the bridge over the Schuylkill River and replacing the structure spanning the Schuylkill River Trail and CSX Railroad east of the river.
