BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Motorists in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships should prepare for long-term travel disruptions as PECO Energy begins overnight utility construction on Brownsville Road starting Monday, November 10. The extensive work is expected to continue through February 2026.
From Monday, November 10, through Friday, February 27, 2026, Brownsville Road will be closed weeknights from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM between Bristol Road and Knable Lane. During the closure, drivers will be detoured along Bristol Road, Old Lincoln Highway, and Route 132 (Street Road). Local access will remain available for residents and businesses.
PECO’s project involves critical infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving service reliability and supporting the region’s growing energy demand. However, the nightly closures are expected to cause delays for commuters and commercial drivers traveling through the area.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time. All work is weather dependent.
