LANCASTER, PA — A local woman, Fior M. Vallejo, 46, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is facing allegations of retail theft and resisting arrest following an incident at a Target store located at 1589 Fruitville Pike. The Manheim Township Police Department reported the incident which occurred at 6:05 pm on December 4, 2023.

Vallejo was observed on the store’s security camera entering the building, and due to familiarity from prior incidents, an employee kept a close watch on her movements throughout the store. Vallejo was seen selecting a backpack valued at $19.99 and removing its sales tag. Although she discarded the backpack, she kept the sales tag in her possession.

She then selected a suitcase valued at $84.99, removed its sales tag, and proceeded to place merchandise worth $86.97 inside it. Vallejo then moved to the self-checkout aisle, where she scanned the $19.99 sales tag, implying it was for the suitcase, while making no attempt to pay for the items concealed within.

As she attempted to exit the store, she was stopped by store employees. Vallejo then reportedly fled the scene but returned to the service desk upon the arrival of the police officers. When advised to return to the loss prevention office, she refused. She was informed that she was being detained for alleged shoplifting, upon which she attempted to pull away and resisted efforts to be handcuffed.

The total value of the merchandise involved in the alleged theft is reported to be $151.97. A criminal complaint has been filed, and Vallejo was processed and turned over to Lancaster County Central Booking.
