K-State’s Veterinary Health Center Adopts Instinct EMR for Modern Care

Instinct Science

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University (K-State’s VHC) has adopted Instinct EMR, a cloud-based electronic medical record system designed for modern veterinary care.

Located in Manhattan, Kansas, K-State’s VHC serves as a referral center and trains veterinary students, residents, and interns. With over 90 veterinary providers and 125 clinical staff, the center offers specialty, emergency, and routine care. Switching to a full EMR helps meet AVMA Council on Education accreditation standards and supports the teaching hospital’s needs.

Instinct EMR replaces paper records with a streamlined documentation process and includes a draft mode for students to create treatment plans under faculty guidance. This technology improves clinical workflows and better prepares students for real-world practice while supporting patient care and training.
