WILMINGTON, DE — InterDigital Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC) executive Joseph Levy has been elected to the IEEE Standards Association Board of Governors for a two-year term beginning in 2027, extending the Wilmington-based technology company’s representation in an organization that oversees standards governing wireless communications and other technologies.

Levy will serve as a voting member-at-large for the 2027-2028 term, participating in decisions involving standards policy, financial oversight and the management of IEEE standards activities.

The IEEE Standards Association develops technical standards through collaboration among industry participants, researchers and other stakeholders from more than 160 countries. Its work supports interoperability across telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics and other connected technologies.

The Board of Governors oversees the association’s policies and operations, giving its members a role in the governance of standards development rather than the direct approval of individual technical specifications.

Levy previously served on the board during the 2024-2025 term and has held positions on the IEEE SA Standards Board and several standards-related committees.

His experience includes leadership in Wi-Fi standards development, an area central to ensuring that wireless devices and networks can communicate across manufacturers and platforms.

InterDigital Chief Technology Officer Rajesh Pankaj cited Levy’s record in standards development and consensus-building.

“Joseph’s election recognizes a legacy of leadership and consensus-building, from leading important Wi-Fi work to serving on the IEEE SA Standards Board,” Pankaj said.

InterDigital conducts research and development in wireless communications, video and artificial intelligence technologies, fields in which common technical standards influence product compatibility and industry adoption.

Levy’s election maintains a connection between the company’s standards expertise and the governance of an international organization responsible for coordinating technical standards across multiple industries.
