WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware registered agent and business formation provider IncNow has reached its 50th year in business, a milestone that reflects the company’s growth to 20,000 business customers as demand for Delaware business entities continues to attract entrepreneurs and companies worldwide.
The Wilmington-based company, founded in 1976 by Delaware tax attorney David N. Williams, provides registered agent services and business formation support for Delaware limited liability companies, series LLCs, corporations and other entities. Registered agents serve as the in-state legal point of contact required for businesses organized under Delaware law.
IncNow remains family owned by Williams’ three children — David Williams Jr., Elisabeth Williams and John L. Williams — with John L. Williams serving as president since 2001.
During his tenure, the company expanded its online filing services, converted to a Delaware public benefit corporation and obtained Certified B Corp status. According to the company, IncNow was the first Certified B Corp in Delaware and the first incorporation service worldwide to receive the certification.
The company reported serving 20,000 customers globally and maintaining a 4.9-star Trustpilot rating based on more than 1,100 customer reviews.
Williams argued that independent certification provides greater accountability than self-described corporate values.
“It’s one thing to promote that we’ve been in business fifty years, earned 20,000 customers, and put people first; it’s entirely another to be transparent and submit to an external, third-party to audit and certify that claim to be true,” he said.
Delaware remains one of the nation’s leading jurisdictions for business incorporation because of its established corporate law and specialized Court of Chancery, making registered agent services a core requirement for companies choosing to organize in the state.
As a public benefit corporation, IncNow states that it allocates up to 5% of its annual gross profits toward supporting environmental, educational, entrepreneurial and arts initiatives throughout the Greater Delaware Valley.
The company also cited ongoing financial support, volunteer work and board service with organizations including the Christina Conservancy, YMCA of Delaware, Downtown Visions, the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation and the University of Delaware Men’s Crew program.
