WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Drivers connecting from southbound I-476 to the Schuylkill Expressway should prepare for overnight detours this weekend as PennDOT closes ramps to both directions of I-76 for milling and paving.

Both ramps from southbound I-476 to I-76 will close during the overnight work periods in West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township. Drivers will be directed along posted detour routes to reach the Schuylkill Expressway.
Motorists should plan extra time and expect delays around the interchange, particularly as traffic is redirected during the ramp closures.
The weekend work is part of a $63.7 million project covering nearly 17 miles of I-476, including ramps and bridges in Montgomery and Delaware counties.
Separate weeknight restrictions also will continue through October. Drivers can expect lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges.
Those restrictions will accommodate bridge repairs, guiderail installation, line striping and other construction.
The broader project includes milling and resurfacing I-476 travel lanes and shoulders, repairs to 49 structures, improvements to 21 stormwater management basins, sound-wall repairs and work on drainage inlets. Crews also will install new pavement markings, delineators, rumble strips, signs and guiderail.
H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor. The project is financed entirely with federal funds.
