PHILADELPHIA, PA — FMG Leading appointed health care transactions specialist Doug Van Wie as managing director, expanding its advisory capabilities after acquiring BroadBranch Advisors to serve private equity-backed companies across the investment lifecycle.
Van Wie will advise investors and executives on mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, growth strategy, post-transaction integration, transformation oversight and preparations for portfolio-company exits.
He has supported more than 100 transactions, including a $5 billion specialty medical practice acquisition and a $2 billion health care information technology deal, according to FMG Leading.
His experience spans medical providers, insurers, pharmacies and health technology companies.
The appointment follows FMG Leading’s acquisition of BroadBranch, a market intelligence and strategic advisory firm. The combination added research and commercial analysis to FMG Leading’s existing work in organizational performance and business strategy.

Before joining FMG Leading, Van Wie co-founded L.E.K. Consulting’s Atlanta office and established its pharmacy practice, advising several large U.S. pharmacy operators.
He also held commercial and product positions at health technology company Influence Health, where he more than tripled annual client implementations and helped guide the business through its acquisition by a private equity firm.
Van Wie holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Auburn University.
